8. William Burgess Powell aka Benjaman Kyle
Back in 2004 someone working at a Burger King in Richmond Hill, Georgia, discovered that a naked man was lying beaten and unconscious in front of the restaurant’s dumpsters. Not the best thing to find during your break. The man was sweating and sunburned. Ants were crawling across his body and he was covered with bruises. An ambulance took him to St. Joseph’s Hospital after the employee contacted the police. The mysterious man possessed no ID or any documents that could identify him, so the police recorded his name at the hospital as “Burger King Doe”.
When he woke up, he had no memory of his previous life and was diagnosed with severe amnesia. The only thing that he knew was that his name might be Benjaman and that he was born 10 years before Michael Jackson – as he stated on an Ask-Me-Anything thread on Reddit in 2012.
Despite appearing online, on television and being featured in a documentary, nobody contacted him with info about who he really was. He stated on Reddit that only three or four people contacted him, but they realized after a short discussion that he was not who they thought he’d be. He also stated that he has no long term plans because he is already old.
His mystery was finally solved in 2015 after years and years of genetic detective work. Even if most of his previous life is still unknown, he finally learned his real name: William Burgess Powell, from Florida! He supposedly was reunited with his family but has decided to keep most details of his life private.

7. Samantha Azzopardi aka GPO Girl
In October 2013 a girl was found wandering near Dublin General Post Office. She was found in a very “distressed state” by the Irish police forces. The very first news reports regarding GPO Girl stated that the Irish police had found a little girl aged between 14 and 16. She also possessed photos which displayed images of her being sexually abused and men handing cash to other men. All these factors led to the idea that she might have been the victim of an evil child sex trafficking network.
This theory was soon destroyed when an Irishman named Joe Brennan identified the girl from a photo the police released. The truth was that the 14-year-old GPO girl was actually Australian Samantha Azzopardi, aged 25!
The Irish police later found that Samantha was well known for these kind of tricks in Australia and that she had already been convicted for fraud, deception, false pretenses and for using forged documents in her home-country.
It was also stated that Azzopardi had some mental issues, but she may have had some good traits deep down….like perseverance! Maybe it was this that lead her to try the exact same scam in Canada only a year later. Both countries spent thousands of dollars investigating her claims! This time, though, she was finally sentenced to 12 months with six months parole for four counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.

6. Andreas Grassl aka The Piano Man
In April 2005 a mysterious man wearing a soaking wet suit and tie was found wandering the streets of Sheerness, Kent in England. After he was found, he refused, or was unable, to answer any questions regarding who he was or where he came from. This lead to even more confusion that lasted until someone had the bright idea of giving him a piece of paper and some pencils, hoping that he would write his name. The mysterious man did not write his name; and instead he drew a detailed sketch of a grand piano!
Intrigued, hospital staff brought him into a room with a piano, where he began singing, like a professional musician. Music was the only way he expressed himself for another couple of weeks. He played music from various genres, including classical music, pop and even what appeared to be his own compositions! Doctors believed he was indeed a professional musician and that he had performed not long before he was found because of the way he was dressed.
Some thought that the ‘Piano Man’, as he was nicknamed, suffered from trauma and had lost his memories, along with his ability to speak. Doctors examined him but found nothing wrong. The examinations weren’t easy either because he was terrified of any new face.

Plastics are an everyday part of our life, that's just fact. However, once you throw away that water bottle, or that plastic fork, you forget about it. 8. The Bloop
In 1997, an extremely loud, ultra-low frequency sound now known as “The Bloop” was picked up by some underwater listening stations. Normally this wouldn't be all that bizarre, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, picks up underwater sounds all the time. After all, that IS the PURPOSE of having underwater listening stations.

7. The Ping
Also from the ocean, this pinging noise was discovered roughly 75 miles northwest of the Inuit hamlet known as Igloolik in the Canadian arctic.
The “ping” seems to be coming from the bottom of the seafloor, and it appears to be frightening away the marine life!!

6. Taos Hum
In the arid landscapes of northern New Mexico, in Taos there is a bizarre noise known as the “Taos Hum”.
It seems that only a small percentage of people can actually hear the Taos Hum, but the noise is so persistent that it can become very irritating and drive people crazy! It’s been described as a seemingly endless, very low frequency humming noise; kind of like the sound of a dog whistle.

5. B-Flat Black Hole
This may come as a surprise, but this strange sound actually comes from outer space! You may be thinking that’s impossible because sound can’t travel through the vacuum of space. However, with sophisticated equipment we are able to pick up on the pulsating wavelengths of electromagnetic vibrations deep in space and then convert them to sound.

4. The Loneliest Whale

In 1989, an array of US Navy hydrophones began picking up strange sounds in the Pacific Ocean similar to blue whale calls, but drastically different in range. The call was at a frequency of 52 Hertz.

9. Gansbaai, South Africa
Known as the Great White Shark diving capital of the world, the stretch of water between Gansbaai and Dyer Island in South Africa is also known as "shark alley".
These sharks are drawn to the area because of the Colony of 60,000 Cape Fur seals living in and around that small channel of water. Instead of driving people away, the sharks are The main source of tourism in the area. Visitors from all over the world come to go cage diving in order to see these predators up close.
If you're up for adventure travel then this would be the perfect vacation for you. Without the cage, it is One of the most dangerous areas to go for a swim in the world. Only because a person swimming might look a lot like a seal.
In 2013, a Couple on their honeymoon went on a cage dive and a great white approached, swam right past the bait, fit its head through the bars and thrashed around, trying to get at the couple. It almost killed the groom but, he survived. The near-tragedy Prompted critics to tell people to not cage dive, citing that chumming waters looking for sharks leads to fatalities.
8. Chowpatty Beach, India
Chowpatty Beach is both India’s most famous beach and One of the most polluted in the world. Even though the sea is unfit for swimming, every year hundreds of locals celebrate the Hindu festival of Ganesha Chaturthi on the beach. During the festival, it’s a Tradition to wash their idols of Lord Ganapati in the ocean water.
Because of the high amount of pollution, celebrants are more likely to Catch nasty diseases like e. coli and hepatitis. The causes of the pollution can be traced to discharge from sewage pipes, waste from storm drains, and open defecation. For a long time the beach itself was Covered in debris and scraps from salvaged ships. In August of 2016, the sands of the beach mysteriously turned black. An oil slick was blamed but the source of the oil was never found.
7. Fraser Island, Australia
Fraser Island, off the coast of Australia, is The world's largest sand island. This paradise is extremely popular for camping and ecotourism but before you go, you should be aware of what lurks beneath the sand and sea.
Sharks and potentially jellyfish fill the waters around Fraser Island. Rip currents also pose a threat to swimmers and surfers. The beach isn’t much better, either. The island is home to some of the world’s most dangerous spiders, wild dingos and large crocodiles. Spinal injuries are common from visitors careening around the sand dunes on four wheelers.
Every year there is a steady stream of accidents. The RACQ CareFlight is a charity-backed service that doesn’t charge its patients for rescue helicopter missions. From 2013-2014 the helicopters flew 64 rescue missions to Fraser Island.
During an average summer holiday, 40 to 50 emergency calls are made to paramedics. So far, at least one child has been taken by dingoes on Fraser Island and countless others have been Stung by the Irukandji jellyfish and airlifted out. Before visiting this natural wonderland, just be aware of what dangers you might face. And don't feed the dingos!
6. Island of La Reunion, Indian Ocean
This little known gem in the Indian Ocean, 140 miles from Mauritius, is One of the most intriguing spots on Earth. With an active volcano, forests, mountains, and scenic beaches what more could you ask of the tropical paradise? Just don't go in the water.
For some reason the waters off La Reunion are One of the most dangerous shark attack spots in the world. While in Mariutius, people are happily swimming, surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving, at La Reunion, people barely dip more than a toe in the water because of a fear of shark attacks.
Since 2011 there have been 18 shark attacks resulting in 7 casualties. This means that in the past 5 years, 13% of all the world’s fatal shark attacks have occurred on this 40 mile long island.
In 2013 Officials placed a ban on swimming and surfing on more than half of the coastline. Before 2011, shark attacks were infrequent and rarely fatal. No one is sure why there are suddenly so many sharks in the area. One victim of the attacks was a 13-year-old up and coming surfer named Elio Canestri in April 2013. He went surfing after leaving a note for his mother, and was caught while surfing in an unmonitored area.
Experts say that the Main culprits for the attacks are bull sharks, which are the most aggressive tropical sharks.

8. Largest predator in the world
When it comes to the Megalodon, it's important to note just how big and imposing it was. This was the biggest shark to ever exist, in all of history! Bones and fossils of the creature show that on average it was around 60-70 feet long, though some scientists think it could’ve been up to 90 feet!! But its length is literally only half of the equation. The other half is its weight, it was estimated to weigh around 60 tons. That's a 120,000 pound shark!

7. Different Ecosystem
One of the most dangerous things that can happen to an area is the arrival of an invasive species that drastically changes the ecosystem. Ecosystems are communities of interconnected things that are dependant on the delicate balance between humans, animals, and plants, and if something in the balance changes, the ecosystem suffers.

6. Fear of the Water
When it comes right down to it, one of the main reasons people fear the oceans of the world is because of sharks. Between real-life accounts and movies like Jaws, 37 Fathoms, and even The Meg, there's a cultural fear of sharks. Even though there are only specific sharks that are naturally aggressive to people, even the legendary Great White Shark isn't as much of a "human attacker" as you might think. But if the Megalodon were still around? Everyone would be afraid of the water!

5. Humans Vs. Megalodons
It's very true that all of this is speculation. I obviously don't know what would have happened if the Megalodon hadn’t died 2.6 million years ago. That being said, asking these questions makes us look deeper into what the Megalodon was. So, that brings up arguably the most important question of all...what would the Megalodon do if it ran into humans?

4. Shark vs. Shark
Here's another question we need to ask ourselves. Would the Megalodon be kind to other sharks in the water? Believe it or not, there are many shark species in the world today that actually attack their own species, or just other sharks in general. Great White Sharks, Tiger sharks, Hammerheads, and even Sevengills are known to eat other sharks, sometimes. Not always.

3. Advances in Technology
Believe it or not, the return of the Megalodon actually would spark a small bit of a technological revolution. Simply because if humans did come up against it, we would need better research devices, stronger and more efficient equipment and maybe even advanced weaponry or deterrents to keep them aways from swimming areas. In the case of deep sea explorers (whether it be manned or remote controlled subs), people would need to know they could either repel the shark, or survive its bite.

2. What Else Is Out There?
One of the biggest mysteries of our world is the simple fact that we don't know what all is out there. There are many species that were believed to be extinct, but actually aren't. And there are other species that are being discovered today that have lived for tens of thousands of years. So, if a creature from the prehistoric past lived to today, or going back to the previous scenario of "suddenly appearing again", that would cast a lot of questions as to what else could be living out there deep in the ocean that we don’t know about.

1. Jaws Wouldn't Exist
Let's forget the Megalodon for a bit. In the real world, the most feared shark in the ocean is the infamous Great White Shark. And one of the main reasons for this is because of the book and subsequent movies known simply as Jaws. This depicted a Great White Shark (called "Bruce") going crazy on a local beach that prompted some hunters to go out and kill the shark.

8. Saber-Tooth Cats
There are many animals from the ice age that scientists are talking about bringing back, but easily one of the more surprising suggestions they have is the Saber-Toothed Cat. These massive cats were the ancestors to many of the "big cats" we have in the world today. With the exception that they had fangs that our cats could only dream of, and they were much more vicious. These cats went extinct around 11,000 years ago.

7. Baiji River Dolphin
Also known as the Yangtze River Dolphin, this dolphin is listed as critically endangered but most scientists agree that it is already extinct. This dolphin actually died out pretty recently, and so, scientists feel that they can bring them back, or at least try to. The last documented sighting was in 2002 although every so often someone claims to have seen one jumping out of the river.

6. Woolly Rhinoceros
The woolly rhinoceros went extinct about 10,000 years ago but some very well-preserved specimens have been found in the ice. Scientists have decided to take advantage of this opportunity and bring back megafauna from the ice age, including the Woolly Rhinoceros.

5. Passenger Pigeons
The Passenger Pigeon may be one of the truly tragic extinction stories, as the Passenger Pigeon was once one of the dominant bird species in the United States. According to the Smithsonian, there were once around 5 billion of these birds in the United States before the settlers came. Once settlers arrived, they started to destroy their habitat and hunt them for food and sport.

4. The Tasmanian Tiger
Also known as the Thylacine or the Tasmanian Wolf, this animal was the largest carnivorous marsupial to live in modern times. This creature was the Apex Predator of its ecosystem on the island off of Australia. It would hunt all kinds of animals with lethal intent, which actually led to its downfall. The settlers of Australia didn't like that this creature was eating their livestock, so they would actually put bounties on its head, and many, MANY, people were happy to take that up.

3. The Moa
The Moa were flightless birds that lived in New Zealand. They went extinct about 700 years ago and now scientists are very close to bringing them back!! They were very tall birds, reaching 12 feet tall at times, and could weigh over a ton. However, with the arrival of humans in the 13th century, they were hunted to extinction.
